Man impaled by saw blade while doing construction work in Galleria area

A Houston construction worker had to be rescued from a Galleria area roof Monday morning after being impaled by a saw.  According to Houston firefighters, the worker was putting a new facade on a building in the 1900 block of Fountainview at Inwood Drive when a Universal Saw blade shattered and a piece of it went into his chest.  Paramedics arrived, secured the victim in a stoke basket and lifted him from the roof of the strip center using an HFD ladder truck.  The worker was going in and out of consciousness as he was transported to the hospital.
